Monofilament
is not as flexible as multifilament, but is almost invisible
in clear water and catches better during daylight hours.
The netting is similar to the leader line on rod and reel
tackle. The netting is double knotted for strength and
is heat set diamond shaped and depth stretched for maximum
knot holding and catch ability. Nets are available in
both SINKING and FLOATING styles. Floating style nets
have lead weights at only those ties directly beneath
the float. The sinking is most popular and will be shipped
unless otherwise specified.
Standard construction:
-
No.6
(3/16") Braided Polypropylene line, top and bottom.
-
No.125
hard plastic floats approximately every 5' (60").
-
One
ounce (#16) leads tied every bottom tie (every other
tie for 8" ties).
-
No.
9 nylon seine twine is used for hanging.
Prices for nets 100 yards long (300'), hung 1/2 basis
(200 stretched yards of netting are used), are shown below.
Other Gill Net Options can be found by clicking on the
Options Links under each table. Tied-Down nets with
No. 12 drop lines on both sides at every float are also
available (see options).
