| NYLON
BAGS OR POCKETS FOR SEINES |
|
| |
|
| |
A
NYLON BAG OR POCKET is a box-shaped section of net generally
made the full depth of the seine and usually located in
the center of the seine. When landing large catches, a center
bag will improve the efficiency of your seine. As the seine
is being pulled through the water, the fish are herded toward
the center of the net. Pocket dimensions are normally added
to the length of the seine ordered unless otherwise specified.
As
an example, an 8' x 100' seine with an 8' x 8' x 8' pocket
will measure 108' wide when completed and contain 140' of
netting.

The
use of tunnels and live cars improves the seining operation
when large catches are being made. The catch is transferred
from the closed seine through the tunnel into the live
car. When full, the live car is disconnected and replaced
by an empty live care. Drawstrings on the tunnels prevent
the loss of the catch during the switching of live cars.
This system has application for pond fish farming and
stop seining. |
|
| |
|
TUNNELS. The most popular tunnel has a fiberglass
hoop at each end, one for attachment to the seine an
the other for attachment to the live car. There is a
drawstring around the center. Tunnels may be purchased
separately or attached to seines at no extra charge.
Standard sizes are shown below. Custom sizes are available
upon request. |

LIVE
CARS are made with large floats spaced close together
to keep the catch in the car. Each car comes equipped with
a 3' long tunnel, drawstring and fiberglass hoop for attachment
to the tunnel. Standard sizes are shown below. Custom sizes
are available upon request.
