Sterling
supplies a wide variety of twisted ropes - nylon, polypropylene,
polyester and cotton. Please note that tensile strengths are
based on tests of new, unused ropes in accordance with cordage
industry specifications. In actual use where splices, knots,
pulleys, abrasion, aging and other factors are involved, the
working loads should not exceed 14% of tensile strengths for
polypropylene and polyester, 11% for nylon, and 10% for cotton. |

Nylon
Rope
Nylon is very strong and elastic. Due to its elasticity
it can absorb sudden shock loads that would break ropes
of other fibers. It has very good resistance to abrasion.
Nylon is rot proof and is not damaged by oils, gasoline,
marine growth, or most chemicals. Standard 3-strand

Polypropylene
Rope This strong lightweight rope has been popular
with commercial fishermen for a long time. It floats
and is rot-proof and unaffected by water, oil, gasoline,
