Sterling's
superior net products are made from pure DuPont Nylon. Nylon
has many benefits, including strength, durability and flexibility.
However, as with all netting material, special care must be
taken when nylon is exposed to direct sunlight.
As seen in the illustrations below,
white nylon absorbs the UV rays of the sun. Over time, this
breaks down the nylon at the molecular level, seriously shortening
the life of the net. The good news is that this can be prevented.
When you order a net that is for outdoor
use, Sterling can apply a variety of special treatment coatings
to the net that will protect it from UV rays. The most effective
treatment is our Black NetCoat. Black, which is the absence
of color, blocks out 100% of UV rays, ensuring a long and
healthy net life. As the color of the NetCoat treatment gets
lighter, the UV protection factor decreases. |
